Associate Director, Market Access and Channel Strategy
Join Takeda as an Associate Director, Market Access and Channel Strategy out of our Cambridge, MA office. You will develop and oversee sustainable market access and channel strategies that will ensure assigned products achieve the most optimal access positions for patients. You will contribute to the development of payer marketing strategies and tactics to support inline and launch brands across GI Rare and Neuroscience franchises.
How you will contribute
Support the development of sustainable market access and channel strategies that will ensure assigned GI and neuroscience products achieve optimal access positions.
Collaborate closely with Managed Markets, Medical, HEOR, Marketing, Finance, Analytics, and Sales colleagues to capture payer insights, identify data gaps, and develop compelling value propositions for field-based teams.
Understand the reimbursement landscape and incorporate it into market access and pricing strategy.
Collaborate with HEOR in developing payer evidence needs and ensure integration into the Medical/HEOR evidence plan.
Execute payer and channel specific marketing plans to achieve patient and business objectives.
Ensure brand plans incorporate the needs of patient, payer, and healthcare provider.
Align the organization on metrics to assess the impact of key market access strategies and tactics.
Contribute to annual brand planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes to represent payer and channel customer segments.
Identify payer or system specific opportunities for innovative arrangements based on brand strategies in collaboration with Strategic Partnerships.
Oversee payer and channel market research for relevant products.
Actively develop the next generation of Market Access and Channel Strategy talent.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; MBA, PharmD, or MS in health sciences preferred.
Minimum 8 years of experience in biopharma market access, health economics and outcomes research, or directly within a payer organization.
Understanding of US payer market dynamics and how managed care organizations make decisions across commercial and public channels.
Knowledge across multiple market channels including payer, PBM, IDN, GPO, specialty pharmacy, etc.
Knowledge of specialty pharmacy operations to ensure a positive patient experience.
Familiarity with specialty products.
Knowledge of the commercial brand planning processes.
Experience working cross‑functionally with Medical Affairs, Legal, Finance, Analytics, Public Affairs, etc.
Financial acumen, including resource allocation, budget management, reporting, strategic sourcing, and P&L evaluation.
Analytical capabilities to provide robust inputs to decision‑making.
Travel approximately 10% domestically.

Takeda Compensation and Benefits Summary Base salary range: $153,600 – $241,340 per year. Additional compensation may include short‑term and long‑term incentives, and benefits such as medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, disability coverage, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time, company holidays, well‑being benefits, paid vacation, and sick time. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
Location Cambridge, MA (hybrid – in accordance with Takeda’s Hybrid and Remote Work policy)
