Base pay range $123,600.00/yr - $170,000.00/yr

The
Senior Telecommunications Engineer
works on various projects as assigned by a Department Manager or Lead Engineer. This position plays a role in the entire design process including preliminary assessments, concept creation, internal and external problem resolution, drawing and specification production, customer and vendor accessibility, being the EoR for designs, and providing coverage for project leads. Depending on bandwidth, you may also lead projects.
Responsibilities
Lead BIM designers in preparation of engineering drawings
DIV 27 specification creation or modification
Conduct site visits
Review technical documents
Manage the relationship with internal and external stakeholders
Sign and seal telecommunications design packages
Mentor other team members
Work with the lead engineer and/or department manager to identify processes to make the department run more efficiently
Qualifications
Electrical Engineering or Communication Engineering bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited college
Minimum 8 years’ experience actively designing or leading designs for Telecommunications structured cabling systems
Thorough knowledge of ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards
Thorough knowledge of NFPA 70 and how it applies to telecommunications structured cabling systems
Proficiency with Bluebeam
Self‑motivation to coordinate with other disciplines, project managers and clients
Excellent project management skills
Familiarity with responding to RFPs
Experience in providing Quality Assurance and checking of telecommunications systems designed by others
Experience with start‑up and commissioning of telecommunications systems
Experience in creating a budget for a project
Experience in creating and maintaining a project schedule
Experience in identifying and mitigating company risk
PE license and the ability to obtain multiple PE licenses is required
Additional Preferred Experience
4 years Telecommunications design experience in Data Centers
Experience working on other low‑voltage systems including security, audio/visual and wireless
Working knowledge of Revit and Navisworks design software platforms
Knowledge of telecom infrastructure for controls systems and security systems
Proficiency with CSI or AIA specification writing procedures
Credential as an RCDD
