Base Pay Range $123,600.00/yr - $170,000.00/yr

Senior Telecommunications Engineer This person will work on various projects as assigned by a Department Manager or Lead Engineer. This position will play a role in the entire design process including but not limited to:

Preliminary assessments

Concept creation

Internal and external problem resolution

Drawing and specification production

Customer and vendor accessibility

Being the EoR for designs

Providing coverage for project leads

Depending on bandwidth, may also lead projects

The Senior Telecommunications Engineer may work on several concurrent projects and will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time.

As a Senior Telecommunications Engineer, you’ll provide technical design leadership of systems for data center buildings which include structured cabling systems, wireless, audio visual, and other low voltage systems.

Additionally, the Senior Telecommunications Engineer will mentor other telecom team members.

Responsibilities

Lead the BIM designers in preparation of engineering drawings

Create or modify DIV 27 specifications

Conduct site visits

Review technical documents

Learn from more senior team leaders and be mentored

Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Sign and seal telecommunications design packages

Mentor other team members

Work with lead engineer and/or department manager to identify processes to make the department run more efficiently

Qualifications

Electrical Engineering or Communication Engineering bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited college

Minimum 8 years’ experience actively designing or leading designs for Telecommunications structured cabling systems

Thorough knowledge of ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards

Thorough knowledge of NFPA 70 and its application to telecommunications structured cabling systems

Proficiency with Bluebeam

Self-motivation to coordinate with other disciplines, project managers, and clients

Excellent project management skills

Familiarity with responding to RFPs

Experience providing Quality Assurance and checking of telecommunications systems designed by others

Experience with start-up and commissioning of telecommunications systems

Experienced in creating a budget for a project

Experienced in creating and maintaining a project schedule

Experienced in identifying and mitigating company risk

PE license required; ability to obtain multiple PE licenses is required

Preferred Qualifications

4 years Telecommunications design experience in Data Centers

Experience working on other low voltage systems including Security, Audio/Visual, and Wireless

Working knowledge of Revit and Navisworks design software platforms

Knowledge of telecom infrastructure for controls systems and security systems

Thorough knowledge of CSI or AIA specification writing procedures

Credential as an RCDD
