This full-time position (37.5 hrs/wk) offers flexible scheduling across day, evening, or night shifts in various surgical areas, including orthopedic, general, endoscopy, and ambulatory operating rooms. Job Summary
Under RN supervision, assist the surgical team as the primary scrub person, handling instruments, supplies, and equipment during procedures. Responsibilities
Protect patient confidentiality and privacy, disclosing information only for professional purposes. Ensure patient safety by verifying identification and the presence of necessary surgical items. Follow aseptic practices to minimize infection risks. Apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, microbiology, and pharmacology. Maintain knowledge of surgical techniques, instrumentation, and equipment. Follow PPE requirements to protect against exposure to blood and body fluids. Respond appropriately to emergencies and procedural changes. Anticipate surgeon’s needs and ensure accurate counts and specimen handling. Participate in 'TIME OUT' procedures prior to incision. Assist in sterilization, instrument processing, and clinical precepting. Maintain equipment and supplies efficiently and safely. Adhere to hospital policies, dress code, and ongoing training requirements. Collaborate effectively with healthcare team members. Participate in departmental development and cross-training as needed. Qualifications
Completion of an accredited surgical technology program and certification within 6 months, or equivalent experience as specified by CT regulations. BLS certification required. Commitment to diversity and inclusion. Additional Details
