Job Description Senior SAP Basis Engineers are responsible for providing technical support to client SAP basis systems. They handle the technical aspects of enhancing, updating, and deploying critical changes, designing new solutions, and creating procedures in the SAP area. They will report to the Principal Director of Application Support. Job Duties Perform project-based and production support responsibilities, including SAP system migrations, landscape refreshes, data protection (backup & recovery), high-availability configurations, and ongoing SAP system maintenance such as performance management, patching, and problem resolution. Collaborate within and outside the SAP department to determine best practices for future landscapes. Build and maintain comprehensive documentation for problem resolution, root cause analysis, procedures, etc. Drive continuous improvement in system operations through collaboration with delivery and development teams. Engage in root cause analysis in collaboration with software development and other teams. Execute against defined project goals. Required Skills Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Sciences, or equivalent work experience. 7+ years of experience as an SAP Basis engineer in a service provider or advanced IT organization operating in a 24/7 environment. Solid experience administering SAP HANA databases. Understanding of SAP security principles. Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Ansible. Experience with configuration management and automation tools. Familiarity with agile engineering practices (Kanban, continuous delivery, etc.). Experience with AWS and Azure services on commercial or government clouds. Development experience with high-level languages such as Python or Java is a plus. Experience with Sybase ASE is a plus. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Strong ownership bias. Deadline and detail-oriented. Compensation & Benefits Base Salary: $120,000—$135,000 USD Medical/dental/vision insurance – 100% paid for employees, 50% paid for dependents. Life insurance – 100% paid for employees. 401K plan with 3% match, no employee contribution required. Education and tuition reimbursement – up to $50K annually. Employee Stock Options Plan. Additional benefits include accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity, Employee Assistance Program, legal assistance, and unlimited PTO.
