The Prime Video Personalization & Discovery team is seeking a Principal Product Manager - Tech to help deliver superior experiences powered by ML/AI to Prime Video customers worldwide. Prime Video is a first-stop entertainment destination offering customers a vast collection of premium programming in one app available across thousands of devices. Prime members can customize their viewing experience and find their favorite movies, series, documentaries, and live sports
including Amazon MGM Studios-produced series and movies; licensed fan favorites; and programming from Prime Video add-on subscriptions such as Apple TV+, Max, Crunchyroll and MGM+. All customers, regardless of whether they have a Prime membership or not, can rent or buy titles, and can enjoy even more content for free with ads. As a Prime Video technologist, you'll have end-to-end ownership of the product, user experience, design, and technology required to deliver state-of-the-art experiences for our customers. You'll get to work on projects that are fast-paced, challenging, and varied. You'll also be able to experiment with new possibilities, take risks, and collaborate with remarkable people. You will own a substantial portion of the product strategy and vision, and develop product roadmaps to execute on that vision. This role is inherently cross-functional; you will work with science, engineering, program management, design, finance, legal, content acquisition, and executive teams to optimize the Prime Video Personalization & Discovery customer experience. We are looking for an analytical, data-driven, resourceful, customer-focused individual who is adept at managing multiple competing priorities simultaneously. You have a proven track record in taking on end-to-end ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment while keeping customers' best interests in mind at all times. You are comfortable navigating complex stakeholder landscapes and can quickly resolve debates. You are an excellent written and verbal communicator who is equally comfortable presenting to leaders and whiteboarding with technical partners. The ideal candidate has a depth of experience both working closely with applied scientists to develop applications of machine learning/artificial intelligence and shipping consumer-facing software at scale. Experience with recommender systems is a plus. Basic Qualifications: 8+ years of technical product or program management experience Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product 6+ years of end to end product delivery experience Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition Experience leading engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product Bachelor's degree Preferred Qualifications: Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement Bachelor's degree in a quantitative/technical field such as computer science, engineering, statistics Experience as a strong leader who can prioritize well, communicate clearly and effectively influence across cross-functional teams Experience working with and influencing senior level stakeholders Experience developing consumer-impacting applications of machine learning or artificial intelligence Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $161,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
