These projects typically range from $50M to $200M+. The company emphasizes a hands-on approach throughout all project phases, from pre-construction planning to final execution. Its reputation is built on strong relationships with developers, architects, and subcontractors, ensuring streamlined communication and timely delivery across a variety of complex builds. They are currently building multiple large-scale multifamily projects in the Arlington/Alexandria area and looking to bring on an experienced Assistant Project Manager for those projects. Job Description
The Assistant Project Manager - Large-Scale Multifamily - Alexandria/Arlington will be responsible for: Assisting the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing construction projects Preparing and maintaining project documentation, including schedules, budgets, contracts, and reports Communicating with subcontractors, suppliers, architects, and clients to ensure timely project progress Conducting site visits to monitor work progress, quality, safety, and compliance with specifications Managing and tracking project budgets, expenses, and financial reports Coordinating the procurement and delivery of materials, tools, and equipment Maintaining and updating project schedules using project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project) Organizing and participating in project meetings, and following up on action items Assisting with change orders, RFIs (Requests for Information), and submittal processes Ensuring compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and company policies Documenting project milestones, progress updates, and daily reports Supporting the superintendent and field teams in resolving on-site issues Performing administrative duties such as filing, data entry, and document control MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. The Assistant Project Manager - Large-Scale Multifamily - Alexandria/Arlington will have: Possessing 5+ years of experience in construction project coordination or management Demonstrating strong knowledge of new construction practices, methods, and sequencing Having experience with multifamily residential projects (preferred) Understanding construction documents, specifications, and architectural/engineering plans Proficient in project management software (e.g., Procore, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, or similar) Communicating effectively with field staff, subcontractors, vendors, and clients Managing time, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment Applying knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and permitting processes Holding a valid driver's license and being willing to travel to job sites as needed Earning a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred but not required) What's on Offer
