Position Summary : This position requires knowledge of nursing practice and management principles. The employee coordinates intradepartmental and interdepartmental activities during the assigned shift and functions as the in-house Administrator. All consultation requests with the Hospital Administrator-on-Call must be routed through the Administrative Supervisor. When the Department Director or administrator is absent, the Administrative Supervisor is responsible for all hospital activities. Key Responsibilities : Makes rounds across departments to ensure operational effectiveness. Evaluates patient records to monitor staff compliance with assessments, diagnoses, care plans, interventions, and evaluations. Provides performance feedback to staff members. Consults with Nursing Directors to address quality of care issues and resolve problems. Ensures Tempo Huddle occurs as scheduled. Provides feedback to other department heads on the quality of ancillary services. Ensures staff adherence to hospital policies, procedures, and protocols. Follows hospital policies for patient transfers to and from other facilities. Monitors standards of care through observations, reports, and documentation; communicates results and implements corrective actions. Reviews census and acuity reports to determine staffing needs. Assesses qualifications and competence of staff; ensures adequate staffing levels. Adjusts assignments flexibly based on staffing changes. Arranges temporary nursing staff as needed, ensuring proper credentialing and evaluation. Evaluates patient acuity for staffing decisions. Investigates and resolves complaints from patients, visitors, and physicians. Ensures timely completion of incident reports. Implements performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient care. Monitors infection control practices as per the Infection Control plan. Prepares accurate supervisor reports. Addresses issues proactively without requiring follow-up from senior management. Applies policies fairly and communicates effectively with staff. Resolves problems proactively and offers solutions. Maintains professionalism and composure in stressful situations. Communicates effectively with medical staff. Participates in hospital community events. Education / Experience / Licensure : Education: B.S. in Nursing or Health Administration preferred; Master's degree is a plus. Experience: Two of the following criteria are required: a) One year of managerial nursing experience at the Clinical Manager/Charge Nurse Supervisor or Director level. b) Dysrhythmia interpretation and management course. c) Minimum of 3 years' experience in acute care nursing. Computer Skills: Proficiency in relevant software applications. License / Certification: Current Florida Registered Nurse License; ACLS & BLS certifications from the American Heart Association or Red Cross. #J-18808-Ljbffr
