Position Summary
The Water/Wastewater (W/WW) team represents a dynamic and innovative group. The right candidate will find themselves immersed in a culture that fosters both mentorship and entrepreneurial spirit. Working on collaborative projects related to collection, conveyance, distribution, pumping, and treatment, the candidate will have ample opportunities to contribute to and lead initiatives that shape the future of water and wastewater within the organization and their local communities.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
Manage project(s) in accordance with scope, schedule, and budget. Collaborate with disciplines and subconsultants to develop a risk-averse project scope and fee. Develop project-specific Project Management Plans and quality management plans. Create and maintain project schedules. Manage subconsultants. Monitor and execute project progress, including identifying and mitigating risks, developing extra work order requests, and open-end contract task proposals. Communicate project status, updates, and issues to internal and external stakeholders. Participate in office project financial status meetings. Build relationships with clients to understand preferences and requirements to set up and execute a quality project. Prepare progress reports and review invoices. Develop and lead project status updates and presentations. Assist senior leadership with the marketing process, including SMART Go/No Go decisions, proposal development, and interviews. Coordinate and guide all technical resources within the project team to ensure delivery of a high-quality outcome. Provide coaching and mentoring to the project team through one-on-one check-ins and project debriefs to acknowledge achievements, identify areas for improvement, and share lessons learned. Lead and manage team members by providing leadership and continuous performance management (setting expectations, goals, feedback, coaching) that supports growth and development.
Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical, environmental, or chemical engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited engineering program Registered Professional Engineer 10+ years of experience Experience delivering water and wastewater projects from design through construction phase engineering services Proficiency in Microsoft Office Strong communication and presentation skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Preferred Experience
CAPM or PMP certification Experience working with local clients at the county and state level Experience with multiple project delivery methods (e.g., Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, P3) Experience managing multidisciplinary project teams
Working Conditions
Work is performed primarily in an office environment (approximately 95% of the time). This role is generally sedentary, but may occasionally require standing or walking. Lighting and temperature conditions are typical of an indoor office, with minimal exposure to hazardous conditions. Occasional field work may be required in various outdoor conditions (heat, cold, wet/humid, dry/arid). Some light lifting (up to 25 lbs) may also be required.
