Senior Manager, Communications
to support media relations and MLB’s entertainment initiatives related to promoting players, original programming, entertainment partnerships, and marketing efforts. This role will help promote the league’s brand, enhance player visibility, and support marquee events like the All-Star Game. The ideal candidate has a background in entertainment publicity, media relations, and bilingual communications (Spanish preferred). This position offers opportunities to develop creative strategies, shape the narrative of baseball globally, and engage diverse audiences. Responsibilities Support media strategy to promote player-driven storytelling across various outlets. Act as liaison between players, agents, clubs, and media for interviews and content development. Develop press releases, media materials, and talking points to increase player visibility. Pitch compelling storylines to maximize media coverage. Provide on-site media support at major events like All-Star Week and the World Series. Collaborate with production and content teams for PR campaigns. Assist in executing promotional strategies for TV and digital content. Coordinate messaging across digital, broadcast, and social media platforms. Work with MLB media partners to promote game coverage and viewership. Support PR efforts for major MLB events and international series. Develop event-related press materials and media messaging. Promote appearances of high-profile attendees at MLB games. Monitor media coverage and address reputation issues. Work with legal and communications teams on sensitive messaging. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field (preferred). 5+ years in public/media relations, especially in sports or entertainment. Experience working with athletes, talent agencies, and production studios. Strong media relationships in sports, lifestyle, and entertainment. Excellent writing, editing, and verbal skills. Bilingual (Spanish preferred). Proficiency in Microsoft Office, content management, and social media tools. Ability to travel and work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
