Concordia University Chicago (CUC) invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor for the Exercise Science Doctoral Program. Specifically, the program is seeking a candidate with expertise in Health Promotion in Exercise Science. The ideal candidate would have the ability to teach doctoral-level courses related to
Program Design in Physical Activity and Health, Health Promotion & Disease Prevention, and Ethics as it relates to the field of Exercise Science. Responsibilities/Duties
: Primary responsibility includes teaching 24 credit hours in the doctoral Exercise Science program each year Responsible for maintaining a courses' curriculum including but not limited to:
Updating required and recommended readings Updating syllabi Updating course content Completing annual assessment map
Additional responsibilities include:
Serving on dissertation committees, primarily as a Methodologist Grading comprehensive examinations
Service to the program, department, college, university, profession, and community is expected Other duties as assigned by the Program Lead and/or Chair
Skill Sets: Experience with learning management systems, preferred Blackboard Content expertise in Health Promotion as it relates to Exercise Science 3. Experience with online pedagogy 4. Proficient with lecture recording to aid in online education 5. Strong administrative skills 6. Superior communication skills; both written and verbal Enthusiastic supporter of Lutheran higher education and Concordia University Chicago
Minimum Experience Required: Experience teaching in a Exercise Science-related graduate program Teaching online for a Higher Education program Record of mentorship of graduate students Record of scholarship
Education Requirements: Completed PhD in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, or closely related field Compensation and Benefits: Starting range and faculty rank is dependent upon individual qualifications and experience.
