Position Summary Concordia University seeks applications for a part-time (19.5 hours/week) staff position: Undergraduate Clinical Coordinator and Administrative Assistant (UCC-AA) for the School of Nursing on the Ann Arbor, MI campus. As clinical coordinator, the successful candidate is responsible for finding and retaining quality clinical education sites, coordinating student clinical placements and preceptors, ensuring student and faculty comply with health requirements set forth by clinical agencies, as well as securing, orienting, and mentoring adjunct clinical faculty. As administrative assistant, the successful candidate will provide administrative and clerical support to the department Chair and nursing department staff/faculty through a wide range of duties. Job Duties & Responsibilities Clinical Coordinator Attend all team meetings Present matters of concern to the Chair In collaboration with the Chair, establish, revise and implement clinical faculty-related hiring and orientation processes Communicate clinical site and instructor needs with the Chair In collaboration with the Chair, determine clinical and preceptorship needs for the upcoming academic year Recruit clinical adjunct faculty: Identify future personnel needs Interview prospective faculty adjuncts and preceptors Contact references and licensure of qualified applicants Make recommendations for hiring to the Chair Initiate and maintain contractual agreements with affiliating agencies Provide information to the Chair and administrative assistant regarding clinical adjunct faculty contracts Assign appropriate clinical faculty to clinical agency sites Orient clinical adjunct faculty in conjunction with clinical coordinators Manage, track and communicate compliance with clinical health requirements of all students and clinical faculty Manage clinical schedule and documentation of student clinical placements and provide information to the Chair Evaluate clinical sites Serve as liaison between the Undergraduate Program and clinical agencies Other related responsibilities as assigned Administrative assistant Answer main line for nursing department Maintain master calendar of in-house meetings and provides meeting support as needed Attend all team meetings and takes meeting minutes Maintain and update student database as needed and maintains confidential files on all students Maintain and update all School of Nursing documents Assist in preparation of confidential reports for various standing committees Provide administrative support for copying, faxing, large-scale mailings, typing and print jobs Maintain accreditation, faculty and student files and reports Order and maintain office supplies. Assist with budgeting and recordkeeping Support student group functions Organize and oversee the nursing pinning ceremony Other related responsibilities as assigned Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Excellent organizational abilities with attention to detail Excellent interpersonal communication skills Professional written and oral communication skills Knowledge and skill in the use of various operating systems and productivity software products Ability to work independently and maintain a schedule Professional work ethic Supportive of the mission and values of Concordia University Wisconsin/Ann Arbor and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS) Education & Experience Bachelor's degree preferred Physical Demands/Equipment (Click to View) Compensation & Benefits This is a part time, hourly non-exempt position.
