About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled
Engineering Manager / Automation Lead
to drive end-to-end automation for next-generation battery manufacturing. This role will own automation strategy and execution across cell, module/pack, and container production lines. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in robotics, PLC/SCADA systems, high-speed manufacturing equipment, and data-driven optimization.
Key Responsibilities Lead automation across the full battery manufacturing flowfrom cell production to pack/container assembly. Integrate robotics, conveyors, AGVs/AMRs, machine vision, automated testing equipment, and material-handling systems. Develop and maintain PLC, HMI, and SCADA architecture; ensure seamless equipment communication and reliability. Connect shop-floor equipment to MES systems, databases, and data lakes for analytics and AI enablement. Use data insights for predictive maintenance, cycle-time reduction, anomaly detection, and process optimization. Improve equipment uptime, reliability, OEE, MTBF/MTTR metrics. Partner with integrators and OEM vendors to design, install, commission, and optimize automated production lines. Support FAT/SAT, debugging, validation, and continuous improvement efforts. Translate data (logs, sensor readings, cycle times, torque curves) into actionable improvements in mechanical and controls systems.
Ideal Experience & Skills Strong background in
industrial automation, robotics, controls engineering, mechatronics , or related fields. Advanced hands-on experience with
PLC programming , SCADA, HMI, servo systems, motion control. Proven ability to integrate robot arms, AGVs/AMRs, conveyors, machine vision systems, and automated testers. Understanding of automation needs in
cell manufacturing , module/pack assembly, or high-precision production environments. Skilled in analyzing sensor data, equipment logs, OEE dashboards, and cycle-time reports. Experience with
predictive maintenance
or AI-assisted equipment diagnostics is a strong advantage. Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (OPC UA, Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profinet). Hands-on involvement in commissioning, FAT/SAT, troubleshooting, and line optimization. Ability to lead cross-functional engineering teams and drive automation strategy.
