The Head of School is responsible to the Board of Directors for the spiritual, academic, operational, and financial well-being of the school. The Head of School will ensure that BCS grows and develops into a vital part of the local and worldwide Christian community by serving as the primary spiritual leader and role model for the entire community. This role requires decisive leadership to maintain the school’s Christian distinctiveness, uphold high expectations for student achievement, and provide strategic direction in collaboration with the Board. 1. Spiritual and Mission Leadership

Serve as the primary spiritual leader and role model for the entire BCS community, ensuring Christ is central in all teaching and operations. Demonstrate spiritual maturity evidenced by a genuine love for Christ with active involvement in a local church. Uphold and strengthen the school’s Christian distinctiveness, promoting Biblical integration, daily prayer, small group discipleship, and mission-minded programs. Foster a strong sense of community and family partnership, a hallmark of BCS. 2. Educational and Student Life Oversight

Lead the school in maintaining accreditation status (ACSI) and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and state regulations. Lead the school in implementing a comprehensive biblical philosophy of education and promote its integration in every curriculum area. Provide leadership for the development of curriculum and maintain high expectations for student achievement and accountability in all instructional programs. Direct all student life activities, including competitive athletics (TAPPS) and fine arts, ensuring a high standard of student behavior and a fair and effective discipline program. Ensure a comprehensive program of spiritual growth for all students and staff. 3. Organizational and Financial Management

Provide strategic leadership by collaborating with the Board of Directors to shape and guide the organization’s long-term vision. Ensure Board policies are effectively executed through prompt and efficient administrative action. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and state regulations related to school administrative policies and procedures, including adherence to all IRS regulations. Prepare the annual budget, anticipate and plan for long-term financial needs, and execute the budget efficiently using proper and generally accepted accounting methods. Promote and exercise fiduciary procedures for all school monies and require accountability for all school purchases. Ensure effective and efficient fundraising that promotes the school’s mission. Oversee the development and maintenance of the school plant and campus facilities. 4. Personnel Management and External Relations

Recruit, employ, organize, and effectively evaluatea quality faculty and staff, developing and maintaining a program for professional and spiritual growth. Serve effectively as the liaison between the Board and the faculty/staff. Maintain a positive, professional, and open relationship with parents, responding to individual concerns and communicating regularly. Develop and promote strong relationships with alumni, the general public, and all churches involved in the school’s constituency. Required Qualifications

Candidates must meet the minimum qualifications listed below: Possess a deep, maturing, and public faith in Jesus Christ. Demonstrate a commitment to a Christ-centered worldview and education. Uphold the theological tenets and biblical worldview of Brazosport Christian School. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of God’s Word and a commitment to a Biblical philosophy of education. Possess experience in providing decisive leadership marked by integrity. Preferred Qualifications

An ideal candidate would meet the qualifications listed below: Advanced Education: Master’s degree or higher in Education, Educational Leadership, Theology, or a related field. Extensive Experience: 5+ years in school administration or leadership roles. Accreditation: Experience with ACSI and/or TAPPS accreditation processes. Development: Experience in strategic planning and fundraising. Public Relations: Strong background in public relations, marketing, and community outreach, including experience building partnerships with local churches and organizations. Personnel: Experience in hiring, evaluating, and developing faculty and staff, with a proven ability to foster high staff morale. Financial/Legal: Experience managing budgets and school operations, familiarity with laws and regulations governing private Christian schools and IRS regulations. Leadership: Proven ability to lead and maintain positive relationships with the Board, parents, faculty, staff, and the community.
