Job Summary We are seeking an energetic, ethical, and inclusive Community Coordinator to manage housing and residential engagement for approximately 2,500 students. The role requires a 24‑hour on‑call duty, overseeing student staff, enforcing policies, leading programming, and serving as a resident conduct officer. This position supports a diverse student population and contributes to the broader Titan community.
Essential Responsibilities
Respond on a 24‑hour basis to any emergency impacting the residential community.
Recruit, select, train, oversee, and evaluate a student staff of over 48 student leaders; directly supervise 9‑15 leaders in creating safe, inclusive communities.
Develop, communicate, and enforce housing policies and procedures as part of the Housing and Residential Engagement leadership team.
Provide conduct and care support, making referrals as appropriate, and serve as residential conduct officer for minor policy violations.
Lead programming and assessment initiatives for the residency area.
Participate in summer conferences, committee work, and special assignments dictated by department needs.
Essential Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in behavioral sciences, public administration, business administration, or a related field, plus two years of professional experience in student services or a related area. A master’s degree may substitute for one year of experience. Additional specialized experience may be substituted year‑for‑year.
General knowledge of organizational management, research, and interview techniques; ability to interpret program rules, advise students, and implement long‑range program improvements; strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills; ability to work with a diverse student population.
Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in a related field; previous Housing and Residential Engagement experience.
License / Certifications Valid California driver’s license (use of personal or state vehicle required). Live scan required; meals are provided at on‑campus dining facilities.
