Position Overview The Amazon & Omnichannel Media Director is a senior leader responsible for driving strategic excellence, team development, and business growth across MPG’s Amazon, Walmart, Target, and broader retailer.com media practice. This role oversees a team of media managers and analysts, while also serving as a trusted client advisor and direct owner of priority accounts. The Director will shape MPG’s omnichannel media strategy, guide platform innovation, lead cross‑functional collaboration, and ensure exceptional delivery across planning, activation, optimization, and analytics. This is a remote position.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as MPG’s expert in Amazon and omnichannel marketplace media (Amazon Ads, AMC, Walmart Connect, Roundel, Instacart Ads, Kroger, Criteo, CitrusAd, and emerging retail media networks).
Provide strategic direction and executive‑level recommendations that drive measurable performance and accelerate ecommerce growth for client brands.
Stay ahead of platform changes, competitive trends, and retail media innovations; translate insights into scalable POVs, frameworks, and best practices.
Partner with MPG cross‑functional leads (ecommerce strategy, digital shelf, analytics, sales) to develop fully integrated commerce solutions.
Act as senior point of contact for key client stakeholders; guide annual planning, forecasting, and investment strategy across Amazon and omnichannel media.
Translate business goals into holistic media plans that span full‑funnel tactics, shopper marketing integrations, and retailer‑specific strategies.
Elevate client conversations through proactive insights, performance storytelling, and strategic recommendations.
Lead quarterly business reviews and contribute to long‑term roadmap development.
Manage, mentor, and develop a team of Amazon and omnichannel media managers and analysts.
Oversee workload allocation, staffing needs, and quality control across accounts.
Establish processes, training programs, and performance standards that enhance team capabilities and operational excellence.
Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and innovation.
Guide the development of retailer media plans across search, display, DSP, and full‑funnel solutions.
Ensure excellence in campaign setup, execution, optimization, and reporting.
Review and refine forecasts, budgets, pacing, and performance guardrails across client portfolios.
When needed, directly own campaign execution for priority clients or complex activations.
Lead interpretation of campaign results, synthesizing insights into actionable business implications.
Ensure the delivery of accurate, scalable, and meaningful reporting.
Partner with analytics teams to develop measurement approaches, incrementality tests, and advanced reporting.
Support new business pitches, representing MPG’s omnichannel media capabilities and strategic POV.
Contribute to the evolution of MPG’s retail media offerings, tools, and productized solutions.
Champion cross‑team collaboration to deliver holistic ecommerce solutions that exceed client expectations.
Required Experience and Education
8–12+ years of combined experience in retail media, ecommerce strategy, and marketplace advertising.
Media planning, activation, and optimization expertise.
Client leadership experience and executive communication skills.
Team management experience.
Cross‑functional leadership.
Skills & Competencies
Deep understanding of Amazon Ads ecosystem.
Understanding of omnichannel retailer platforms.
