About the Role As a Software Engineering Manager, you will lead a team developing Aivia, an AI‑enabled 3D microscopy image visualization and analysis platform that integrates machine learning, image‑processing algorithms, virtual reality hardware, and third‑party applications. The position reports to the Senior Manager – R&D and is based in Bellevue, WA as an on‑site role.
Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a team of software engineers to build competitive AI image‑analysis software.
Collaborate with product management, software, and algorithm engineers to design and implement complex, high‑quality features.
Own technical strategy: identify challenges, propose solutions, and introduce innovative technologies.
Drive architectural decisions and ensure scalability and maintainability.
Champion agile practices and predictability in delivery.
Hire, coach, and develop talent in an inclusive, growth‑oriented environment.
Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Essential Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
5+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in leadership roles.
3+ years of experience with C#, C++, and modern software development tools.
Minimum of 3 years designing and implementing enterprise‑scale software architecture.
Track record of delivering at least 3 enterprise‑scale projects within agreed timelines and quality standards in an agile environment.
Preferred Experience
Experience with 3D graphics (OpenGL, VTK, WebGL).
Knowledge of machine learning, computer vision, and image processing.
Familiarity with microscopy software (ImageJ, Imaris, etc.).
Compensation & Benefits The annual salary range for this role is $125k to $155k. This range may be modified in the future. The position is eligible for bonus/incentive pay. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and a 401(k) plan to eligible employees.
