Position Summary:
The Data and Systems Analyst supports ACT’s mission by ensuring data is clean, consistent, and used effectively to inform decision-making, and by ensuring ACT’s software platforms are optimized for data collection and analysis. This role works across teams to support the development and enforcement of data standards, maintain high-quality datasets, champion platform usage, recommend training opportunities, and create insightful reports and dashboards. The analyst plays a key part in surfacing trends in program performance and system usage to improve outcomes and organizational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities: Data Quality & Standards
Support the development, documentation, and implementation of organizational data standards and practices.
Ensure ongoing compliance with internal policies and data governance frameworks.
Collaborate with staff to reinforce data entry best practices and improve data accuracy.
Data Cleaning & Maintenance
Regularly review and clean datasets to maintain integrity, consistency, and reliability.
Identify and resolve data quality issues and anomalies across systems.
Work closely with program managers to align data structure and processes.
Reporting & Dashboards
Design and build user-friendly reports and dashboards to support program evaluation, grant reporting, and strategic planning.
Translate complex data into clear visualizations and summaries tailored to different audiences.
Support ad-hoc data requests and regular performance tracking.
Insights & Trend Analysis
Analyze program and operational data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities.
Facilitate group analysis of program and operational data to help build knowledge of trends, gaps, and opportunities across the organization.
Share findings with relevant teams to inform programmatic and operational improvements.
System Configuration & Implementation
Identify and track needs for system enhancements and configuration changes
Lead software maintenance, upgrades, and implementation, managing ACT vendors and software providers
Manage users and maintain systems integration
Redesign Google Drive folder structure and ensure standardization across ACT
User Training & Adoption
Champion adoption of data systems across ACT
Research software-specific training opportunities
Convene ACT team leaders to identify software training needs
Qualifications:
2–4 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or database management.
Strong skills in Excel and at least one reporting or data visualization tool (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker Studio).
Experience working with CRMs or program databases (e.g., Salesforce, Airtable, Apricot, etc.).
Familiarity with data privacy, security, and compliance principles.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and consistency.
Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the nonprofit sector or in mission-driven organizations.
1-3 years of experience in IT support.
Knowledge of SQL or basic scripting for data manipulation.
Understanding of program evaluation or impact measurement frameworks.
