2025 Maintenance Budget: $2.5 million. Capital Budget: $300,000–$500,000
Annual Rounds: Approximately 23,000 per year; 15–18 outings annually
Staffing: Approximately 25 seasonal employees and 8 full-time employees
Turf Types:
Greens/Tees/Fairways - Bent/Poa
Rough - Tall Fescue/Bluegrass/Rye
Irrigation System: Toro Lynx
Equipment: Mostly Toro

Expansion of maintenance facility with 6 equipment bays & 4 material storage bins
#17 green-side bunker restoration and multiple tee box restorations

Become familiar with crew management practices and provide consistent daily leadership.
Learn, understand, and execute all aspects of golf course maintenance operations.
Take initiative in monitoring course conditions and addressing issues proactively.
Support the Superintendent in planning and carrying out cultural practices, ongoing projects, and day-to-day maintenance tasks.
Key responsibilities, knowledge, skills & aptitude
Assist in all daily golf course maintenance operations
Lead, train, motivate, and supervise staff
Schedule and plan daily tasks and projects
Perform and oversee fertilizer and pesticide applications
Execute irrigation and water management strategies; troubleshoot system issues
Maintain records for applications, water usage, and cultural programs
Monitor turf health, moisture, disease pressure, and environmental conditions
Ensure efficient execution of in-house restoration projects and capital improvements
Uphold and model HGC’s strong commitment to work ethic, professionalism, and course excellence
Preferred qualifications
4–7 years of relevant golf course maintenance experience
Required Education: Certificate, Associate, or Bachelor’s degree in Turfgrass Management or related field
Experience with bentgrass/poa management in the Northeast preferred
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities
Pesticide Applicator License (or ability to obtain quickly)
Note: Education requirements are required and cannot be offset with experience.
