Our team audits Commercial Banking and credit risk management areas, providing independent assurance on credit risk management, governance, and internal controls that protect the bank and its reputation. In this role you will conduct audit engagements to critically assess management and internal control processes, determine the nature, extent and timing of the audit, execute it, and formulate insightful audit reports. Your findings will aid the Board of Directors and senior management in fulfilling mandates and reducing risk to the company.
What We’re Looking For
Commercial credit experience and/or audit experience with a deep understanding of commercial lending and associated risks.
Knowledge of the bank’s credit policies, procedures, processes, and lending systems is a strong plus.
Strong analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
Responsibilities
Execute control testing following our audit methodology, covering credit, operational, and regulatory risks.
Identify control issues and trends, and use data analytics to enhance audit quality and efficiency.
Maintain independence and objectivity while building stakeholder relationships and acting as a trusted advisor.
Influence and negotiate to achieve business objectives and provide critical input to senior audit leadership.
Help develop the annual audit plan and identify opportunities to simplify corporate audit processes.
Conduct audits at all levels, including enterprise‑wide capstone audits of functions/processes.
Determine the impact of changing strategies, tactics, risks and initiatives on audit and advisory services.
Evaluate the impact of new and emerging technology and technology risk on the organization’s processes and control environment.
Utilize data analytics in advisory engagements to improve quality and efficiencies.
Develop insightful discussion points for audit reports, maintaining objectivity, clarity, conciseness, and timeliness.
Maintain the independence and professionalism of the audit practice and its personnel.
Monitor change management initiatives and identify potential risks.
Maintain and enhance professional audit qualifications in line with industry standards.
Work independently and handle non‑routine situations.
Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications
5+ years of relevant experience in commercial lending, transactional credit, loan review, or audit.
Professional designation (CIA, CPA) helpful.
Expertise in risk assessment and internal controls.
Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Collaboration and team skills.
Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Influence skills.
Data‑driven decision making.
Hybrid Model‑ 3 days a week in office, subject to change.
Salary $74,000.00 – $138,000.00
