## Job Description# Platform EngineerApex Systems is looking for an AWS Cloud Platform Engineer to help grow and support our clients' website and channels that sell to all consumers. The hiring manager needs someone with strong AWS experience, Kubernetes (EKS) and GitOps experience. If interested, please apply directly! **CDN and WAF Management**: Understand and work with Akamai as our Content Delivery Network (CDN) and Web Application Firewall (WAF) solution.·
**Security and Compliance**: Implement and adhere to security best practices and compliance requirements within the cloud environment.·
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).·
5+ years of experience in a Cloud Engineering or DevOps role.·
Significant experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS).·
Proven experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools, preferably AWS CloudFormation and CDK.·
Hands-on experience deploying and managing applications in Kubernetes, ideally with Amazon EKS.·
Strong understanding and practical experience with GitOps methodologies and tools, particularly Flux CD.·
Experience implementing and utilizing observability platforms, with preference for Splunk Observability Cloud (or similar tools like Datadog, New Relic).·
Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and experience with tools like GitHub Actions.·
Experience troubleshooting applications running in various AWS services (EKS, Elastic Beanstalk, Lambda).·
Familiarity with CDN and WAF solutions, with knowledge of Akamai being a significant advantage.·
Experience with scalable architectures, cloud platforms, and transactional applications.·
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences.·
Proven ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.·
Ability to create and maintain clear and concise infrastructure and architecture diagrams (e.g., using tools like Lucidchart, draw.io).·
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.·
Experience with other containerization technologies (e.g., Docker).·
Experience with other GitOps tools.·
