Job Summary The Director of Strategy leads AHEC’s modernization of performance tracking, data reporting, and strategic decision‑making. In close partnership with the Chief of Staff, department directors, and institutional partners, you transform raw data into actionable insights that support transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Essential Job Functions Data Infrastructure, Dashboarding & Insights

Maintain and refine dashboards and tools for strategic priorities across departments.

Design, build, and sustain visualizations tied to KPIs outlined in agency‑wide Service Level Agreements.

Translate quantitative KPIs and qualitative progress into concise insights for executives, the CEO, and the Auraria Board.

Develop automated data workflows using Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python, R, or equivalent to streamline reporting.

Establish data collection, validation, and governance processes in collaboration with IT, Finance, and data owners.

Strategic Planning, Goal Alignment & Organizational Performance

Lead development, alignment, and assessment of SMART goals at departmental and strategic levels.

Facilitate strategic planning cycles, stakeholder workshops, and mid‑cycle refinements.

Synthesize submissions into cohesive organizational priorities for executive decision‑making.

Build frameworks to measure progress toward strategic objectives and recommend risk mitigation.

Prepare narrative briefings, recommendations, and synthesize reports for leadership and board materials.

Partner with the Chief of Staff to create data‑driven presentations that communicate progress toward institutional priorities.

Host recurring review sessions with leadership to assess trends and recommend data‑informed strategies.

Continuous Improvement and Organizational Efficiency

Identify opportunities for process improvement through technology, automation, and data access.

Lead cross‑functional teams to streamline workflows, eliminate redundancies, and build analytic capabilities.

Serve as an internal consultant, guiding departments in adopting data‑driven practices and defining success measures.

Support implementation of new policies, processes, and reporting expectations to elevate maturity.

Research and implement best practices in analytics, performance management, and digital modernization.

Training, Collaboration, and Data Governance

Provide training and technical guidance on data visualization tools and dashboards.

Foster a culture of data literacy and accountability across AHEC.

Develop and enforce data governance policies, documentation standards, and access permissions.

Coach departments through annual planning cycles.

Reporting, Communication, and Executive Support

Convert findings into concise, high‑impact reports and visual presentations for executives and partners.

Support the Chief of Staff and CEO with analytical deliverables that inform decisions, resource allocation, and communications.

Manage sensitive, high‑visibility data with integrity and discretion.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, information systems, business administration, statistics, or a related field.

Five years of project management, strategic planning, or continuous improvement experience.

Three years of experience in data collection, analytics, and data visualization.

Advanced proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python, or R.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Public Administration, Business Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Demonstrated experience designing, maintaining enterprise‑wide dashboards and performance reporting systems.

Experience with KPI design, service level tracking, and strategic plan implementation in complex environments.
