Activities Director – Bickford Senior Living
Location: Fredericksburg, VA
Salary: $70,000.00–$75,000.00

Activities Director
(also called Happiness Coordinator). In this role you will be responsible for all aspects of resident engagement, coordinating and providing purpose‑filled events and activities that enrich the community and promote resident happiness. The position begins at $21.00 per hour.

Responsibilities
Plan and implement activities in categories such as physical (exercise), social, recreational, intellectual/educational, creative, entertainment, and special resident requests.
Conduct or lead activities as needed.
Develop activities according to residents’ lifestyle choices.
Invite and remind residents to participate in planned activities.
Chaperone activities outside the community.
Operate a Bickford vehicle to transport residents to activities when applicable.
Train, support, and instruct other team members to conduct activities.
Create a monthly activity calendar that includes 7 days per week, evening, and weekend events.
Co‑coordinate décor for special events, seasons, and holidays.
Coordinate food needs for scheduled activities with the kitchen.
Manage the activity program within Branch budget guidelines.
Qualifications
High‑school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree in recreation or a related health‑care field preferred.
Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist or Activity Director Certification required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, Excel) and ability to learn new applications.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Organizational and time‑management skills.
Good judgment, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
A valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets Bickford’s insurance carrier guidelines.
