Short Description
Role Summary
Responsible for successful launch of new programs using Gestamp procedures & systems to fulfil all quality milestones from initial concept to final approved PAP.
Supports launch activities at pre-production builds at assembly equipment integrators, die shops and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
Advanced Quality Planning activities such as PFMEA, Pre-Production Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams and In-Process Inspection Sheets.
Manage Quality deliverables for each project phase for GPCS.
Customer quality strategy, GD&T reviews, Check fixture design reviews, documentation reviews, pre-buyoff buyoff activities and PPA/PPAP.
Pre-production builds and documentation requested by the customer. Manage Launch containment (GP12) activities.
Assist in the development of dimensional control strategies and the design and procurement of gages and instruments. Coordinate MSA / Gage R&R studies. Perform Gage buyoff.
Successful delivery of PPAP and launch for programs, engineering changes, etc.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Quality, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent level of experience.
Technical expertise required to do the job effectively using quality tools (APQP, PPAP, IATF16949, 8D, etc.)
Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement (Lessons Learned).
5+ year experience as Quality Engineer.
New product launch experience and APQP
Key Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Quality, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent level of experience.
Technical expertise required to do the job effectively using quality tools (APQP, PPAP, IATF16949, 8D, etc.)
Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement (Lessons Learned).
5+ year experience as Quality Engineer.
New product launch experience and APQP.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk and hear
Employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so other will understand
The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted
