is now accepting applications for Home Visiting Specialist - Early Head Start – Restricted (Spanish Bilingual Required).

Overview Under the direct supervision of Supervisor - Home-Based Program – Early Head Start/Restricted, the Home Visiting Specialist – Early Head Start - Restricted provides intensive and comprehensive child development and family support services to enhance the physical, social, emotional and intellectual development of participating children. The specialist promotes positive parent-child interactions and provides resources to parents in a home-based setting to support parents in their roles. The specialist also coordinates and leads socialization sessions with groups of children and their families.

Responsibilities

Provide child development and family support services in the home setting.

Promote positive parent-child interactions and provide resources to parents.

Coordinate and lead socialization sessions with groups of children and families.

Education & Experience

AA/AS degree from an accredited college with major coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Human Services, Social Services or related field AND

One (1) year of experience working with children, families, community groups and public agencies, providing safety, child or mental health consultation. Experience providing home visitation services for parents, infants, toddlers, and preschoolers and serving families with disabilities is preferred.

Licenses and Other Requirements

Ability to complete three units of Infant/Toddler education within one year after hire.

Valid California driver's license.

Examination Procedures

Assessments and interviews may take place virtually or in-person.

Following the final filing date, the qualifications of all candidates will be evaluated.

The most qualified candidates will be invited to participate in a written exam, tentatively scheduled for January 7, 2026.

Those who pass the written exam will be invited to participate in an oral examination with subject matter experts, tentatively scheduled for TBD.

Based on the final scores of qualified candidates, Classified Personnel Services will establish a ranked candidate list.

Selected candidates from the list will be invited to a second interview with the hiring authorities, tentatively scheduled for TBD.
