The Plant Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a senior leadership role requiring deep experience in large-scale, complex manufacturing environments. Ideal candidates will have managed financial operations for sites with $500M+ in revenue and bring a proven ability to operate within global, matrixed organizations. As a key member of the site leadership team, the Plant CFO oversees all financial operations of the manufacturing facility, combining strategic vision with hands‑on financial management to ensure strong performance, cost discipline, and compliance. This role partners closely with operations, supply chain, and business unit finance to drive cost optimization, capital effectiveness, and long‑term, sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement financial strategies that support both plant‑level and corporate objectives. Lead long‑range financial planning, scenario modeling, and capital investment analysis. Serve as a strategic advisor to plant leadership, the business unit, and corporate finance teams. Lead budgeting, forecasting, and ongoing financial planning cycles. Analyze production and metal costs, operational KPIs, and performance drivers. Drive margin enhancement, cost transparency initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts. Oversee timely and accurate monthly close, management reporting, and required regulatory filings. Ensure adherence to SOX, internal controls, tax, treasury, and legal requirements. Coordinate activities with internal and external auditors. Manage financial risks including commodity exposure, credit, and operational risk. Oversee cash flow forecasting (direct and indirect), liquidity planning, and capital funding needs. Support treasury operations and optimize working capital. Operational Finance Partnership
Partner with plant operations to strengthen cost structures, improve productivity, and increase asset utilization. Support CapEx planning, ROI analysis, and investment decision‑making. Lead spend reviews, cost‑control programs, and operational finance initiatives. Leadership & Talent Development
Lead, mentor, and develop the site finance team, fostering accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement. Strengthen cross‑functional collaboration and enhance financial literacy across the facility. Support succession planning and talent development initiatives. Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; Master’s or CPA preferred. 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience within manufacturing. Demonstrated experience managing financial operations for sites with $500M+ in revenue. Background in complex, global manufacturing environments. Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and communication skills. Deep knowledge of cost accounting, inventory controls, and working capital management. Proven experience in SOX compliance, internal controls, and risk management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with SAP (ideally S/4HANA) and BI tools strongly preferred.
