Salary up to $275K plus bonus and relocation.
Our client is an insurance carrier, looking for an experienced Underwriting Manager for their Phoenix office.
Responsibilities
Represent the company in all E&S underwriting for medium and larger accounts.
Work closely with sales/marketing teams and firms nationwide.
Partner with other underwriting teams.
Manage a larger team of underwriting professionals.
Travel regularly to client sites.
Coordinate new and existing business and provide strategic vision for the department, including implementing new policies and procedures.
Qualifications
At least 8+ years of underwriting experience with exposure to casualty and small/medium sized business accounts.
Undergraduate degree and prior management experience (including proven mentoring skills).
Strong analytical skills and proven strategic initiative experience.
Solid understanding of finance, financial analysis and insurance markets.
Demonstrated ability to develop best‑practice underwriting practices.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work under minimal supervision.
The role suits someone who has managed staff and is looking to take the next step up in responsibility. Insurance certifications and a record of building strong internal/external relationships are an asset.
