Position Summary We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Advanced Practice Provider Nurse Practitioner – School Based Health (Peds NP Exp req) at the Roland Hayes Campus. The APN’s primary responsibility is to ensure patients receive timely and quality care in the appropriate setting. Key duties include performing initial physical examinations, reviewing patient care plans, coordinating patient care, reviewing work status and restrictions, and overseeing modified duty for employees on workers’ compensation and FMLA. The APN is charged with managing delivery of care in an effective, professional and compassionate manner.

Job Responsibilities

Provide direct clinical care to all patients assigned in accordance with applicable standards of care, LFHC policies, and hospital procedures.

Participate in compliance, quality management, and performance improvement activities, including education, training, and medical‑record audits.

Respect cultural and religious differences and maintain a professional image in demeanor and dress.

Communicate effectively with patients’ primary care providers, completing documentation and referrals as required.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary provider teams, ensuring continuity of care and cross‑coverage for absent team members.

Uphold LFHC practice principles, including supervision and training of residents and students, timely completion of evaluation forms, accurate billing documentation, and site‑specific productivity expectations.

Participate in a rotating 24‑hour on‑call phone coverage arrangement for the unit/site.

Answer patients’ phone calls within 30 minutes during on‑call periods and document calls in the medical record.

Maintain good citizenship standards: accommodate walk‑in patients, arrive on time, remain throughout sessions, engage in teamwork with support staff, follow clinical charting and practice guidelines, and complete required documentation and audits.

Minimum Qualifications

Current registration as a Professional Nurse in New York and as a Nurse Practitioner in New York.

Master’s Degree in Nursing.

At least 1 year of pediatric NP experience.

Certification by ANCC or board certification from another specialty organization for Nurse Practitioners, obtained as soon as feasible following graduation.

Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced Life Support certification (ACLS, PALS) or Neonatal Resuscitation program (NRP) certification, as required based on selected privileges.

Effective communication skills at all organizational levels.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for this role is $144,315.18 – $174,815.18 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital needs. The range does not include bonuses, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
