The IT Project Manager oversees the planning, execution, and delivery of technology projects across the organization. This role ensures projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget while coordinating cross‑functional teams, managing risks, and promoting clear communication between stakeholders. The position requires strong leadership, organization, and problem‑solving abilities.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end‑to‑end project lifecycle activities including planning, scheduling, budgeting, execution, monitoring, and closure
Define project scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements
Coordinate and manage cross‑functional teams including IT, business units, vendors, and external partners
Develop and maintain project plans, status reports, risk assessments, and communication plans
Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure cost control
Identify, analyze, and mitigate project risks and issues
Facilitate meetings, workshops, and project discussions to drive alignment and decision‑making
Ensure project documentation is complete, accurate, and up to date
Implement project management methodologies and best practices (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid)
Ensure high‑quality project delivery that meets business requirements and stakeholder expectations
Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and third‑party deliverables
Support continuous improvement initiatives within the PMO or IT organization
Required Qualifications and Experience
3–5+ years of experience managing technology projects
Proven experience with project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall)
Strong technical understanding of IT systems, infrastructure, applications, and software development lifecycles
Proficiency with project management tools (Jira, Trello, MS Project, Asana, Monday.com, etc.)
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Qualifications
Project management certifications such as PMP, CAPM, PMI‑ACP, or Scrum Master
Experience working with cross‑functional IT teams, software engineering teams, or digital transformation initiatives
Familiarity with change management frameworks and processes
Experience in vendor management and contract negotiation
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Project Management, or a related field preferred
Equivalent work experience will be considered
