Description The Hofstra University Department of Physics and Astronomy invites applications for multiple part-time adjunct faculty positions to teach graduate-level courses in the Medical Physics Master’s program in the Spring 2026 semester and beyond. An MS or PhD degree in medical physics and teaching experience are expected, but degrees in closely related STEM disciplines will be considered. Applicants must have an appointment in a Northwell Health Department and/or have Northwell clearance to supervise student rotations. Depending upon degree and experience, initial appointments would be made at the rank of Adjunct Assistant Professor through Adjunct Associate Professor.

Responsibilities

Teach introductory calculus-based or algebra-based physics labs servicing multiple STEM major programs.

Qualifications

An MS/MA in physics, or a related STEM field.

Preferred Qualifications

Teaching experience.

Salary $1,458-$1,711 per credit hour

Additional Information Hofstra University provides the above salary as a good faith estimate of the starting pay range which considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and education. In addition to the salary offered, we offer a collegial and inclusive culture, and a benefits program which includes generous paid time off, paid holidays, tuition remission for employees and eligible dependents, and a retirement plan with University contributions.
