Base Pay Range $110,000.00/yr - $130,000.00/yr

Primary Responsibilities The Terrace Manager is responsible for all of the activity in the memory care unit, including staff scheduling and supervision, health and personal care service provision, evaluation of residents, and interaction with families. They will be the community’s primary expert in dementia care and able to provide ongoing training and coaching to staff, as well as educate families as needed.

Assess residents with cognitive impairment accurately, identifying the level of their impairment

Working with the Community Health Director, determine the appropriateness of a resident moving into the Terrace environment, including participating in the Move‑in assessment and reviewing Physician Statement and Physician Orders for service.

Plan services based on the residents’ needs, abilities and preferences

Able to design individualized behavior plans for residents and can share these with staff and families. Revise these plans to meet client needs.

Work collegially with Life Enrichment staff to ensure that resident programming occurs throughout the day, addressing the residents’ preferences and cognitive abilities

Role model excellent dementia communication skills with all residents and teach these skills to staff and families.

Provide skilled nursing service for residents, as needed and as qualified

Document all plans, all service provision and changes in resident condition

Maintain organized and confidential health record for residents according to standard

Ensure a safe environment for all residents

Work with broader community team to ensure residents living with dementia get appropriate services

Responsible for purchasing items needed for the unit, and managing budget related to these items

Review residents billing statements to ensure accuracy, as needed

Supervisory Responsibilities

Share the hiring responsibilities for new care staff with the Community Health Director to include interviewing, obtaining references and establishing standards and structured orientation and required training for all staff working on the Terrace

Establish staffing schedules to ensure staff coverage. Able to flex staffing based on resident census and acuity.

Deal with work performance issues with staff. Ensure staff is providing excellent service to customer as designed in service plan. Provide performance evaluations. Coach and mentor staff.

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Knowledge of nursing assessment for older adults and persons with dementia

Expertise in dementia care and can describe Terrace services to staff, families and the public

Able to assess residents with dementia accurately for their needs

Skilled in supervising paraprofessional staff

Able to use computers, Word, Excel, email, and internet

Ability to flex schedule

Able to follow up all incident reports and strategize for residents with dementia

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form

Ability to perform duties in compliance with established Universal Precautions, fire safety, infection control and sanitation procedures, and Era Living policies and procedures

Ability to read, write and communicate in English

Ability to pass DSHS background check, required

Education and Experience

Graduate of approved School of Nursing and licensed as a RN able to practice nursing in the state of WA, required

Food Handler’s Certificate or able to obtain within 14 days of hire
