The Nashville Food Project (TNFP) seeks a collaborative, systems-oriented, and values-drivenChief Operating Officer (COO) to serve as a senior leader during an exciting chapter oforganizational growth. Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the Leadership Team, theCOO ensures that internal systems, staff development, and program execution are aligned withthe mission and anchored in organizational values. This is a significant opportunity for a seasoned executive to help lead a highly respected, community-based organization that isadvancing a more just and sustainable food system in Nashville. The COO will integrate key areas of work across the organization, including programs in foodaccess and community engagement, as well as people and culture. As a member of the Leadership Team, the COO will support long-term planning while strengthening internal systems, evaluation practices, and interdepartmental collaboration. This leader will serve as a trustedinternal advisor, a skillful coach, and a thought partner to the CEO. Job Responsibilities

Serve as a member of the Leadership Team, managing daily operations and shaping thestrategic direction of work. Oversee program areas in Food Access and Community Engagement, ensuring effectivemission-aligned service delivery. Develop and implement systems to monitor, evaluate, and communicate impact. Lead annual work planning and performance evaluation processes across all teams. Collaborate with the Finance and Administrative team to ensure HR, IT, and facilities systemssupport program and operational excellence. Cultivate a culture of collaboration, learning, and accountability. Represent TNFP in external partnerships, networks, and strategic alliances. Qualifications

7–10 years of leadership experience, including supervision of teams and cross-functionaloperations. Demonstrated success leading complex operational systems and culture-building. Strong background in operations, including budgeting and program evaluation, as well as thepeople and culture aspects of HR. Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, and communication skills, with the ability to build trust andalignment across diverse teams. Experience managing change, fostering learning cultures, and supporting staff development. Personal and/or professional resonance with TNFP’s mission, vision, and values. Additional Information

This is a full-time, exempt position located in Nashville, Tennessee. TNFP offers a competitivesalary in the range of $92,900-$113,545, based on experience and qualifications.
