Overview of Senior Accountant:
The
Senior Accountant
will play a pivotal role in managing the financial operations of a growing manufacturing organization. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. The Senior Accountant will also provide financial insights, cost analysis, and operational support to drive informed business decisions.
Key Responsibilities of Senior Accountant:
Prepare and review
journal entries , account reconciliations, and financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
Support
month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close , ensuring timely and accurate reporting
Analyze manufacturing costs, inventory variances, and production results to identify trends and improvement opportunities
Maintain and support
standard costing
processes and perform variance analysis
Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and promptly resolve discrepancies
Partner with operations and supply chain teams to ensure accurate inventory valuation and cost allocations
Assist with audits, ERP system projects, budgeting, forecasting, and internal control enhancements
Qualifications of Senior Accountant:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field;
CPA or CPA eligibility preferred
4+ years of progressive accounting experience , including
2+ years in manufacturing
Strong understanding of
U.S. GAAP
and
cost accounting principles
Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar)
Advanced Excel skills
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills
Experience with
ERP implementations
or process improvement initiatives
Knowledge of inventory management and standard costing methodologies
Exposure to audit support and internal control documentation
