Accounting Specialist

Position Summary The Accounting Specialist will support the daily financial operations of the office, with primary responsibilities across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, general ledger maintenance, and monthly journal entries. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, can work independently, and thrives in a small, team-oriented environment. Key Responsibilities Manage full-cycle
Accounts Payable , including invoice processing, coding, approvals, vendor communication, and timely payments.
Administer
Accounts Receivable , including invoicing, payment tracking, deposits, and customer follow-up.
Prepare and post
journal entries
for month-end and year-end close.
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, investment accounts, and general ledger balances.
Maintain accurate and organized financial records, supporting audits and tax filings as needed.
Assist with cash flow tracking, budget updates, and internal reporting.
Support the Controller/Accounting Manager with ad hoc analysis, projects, and process improvements.
Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
Qualifications 2-4+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a small business or professional services environment.
Strong working knowledge of GAAP fundamentals.
Experience with AP, AR, journal entries, and general ledger work required.
Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (QuickBooks or similar preferred).
High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Professional, dependable, and comfortable working in a small, fast-moving office setting.
