An established organization is seeking an experienced
Senior Tax Accountant
to join its Finance & Accounting team. This role reports directly to the Tax & Regulatory Manager and plays a key part in maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. The Senior Tax Accountant will prepare and file corporate tax returns, conduct tax research, support planning initiatives, and assist with audits. Success in this role requires strong analytical capabilities, advanced technical tax knowledge, and exceptional attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in preparing federal corporate income tax returns Provide guidance on state and local tax matters Research and interpret tax laws and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance Maintain organized and comprehensive tax records and documentation Support the development and execution of tax planning strategies Prepare reconciliations and analyze tax-related general ledger accounts Respond to inquiries and resolve notices from tax authorities Assist with federal, state, and local tax audits by preparing required documentation Calculate book-tax differences (including §263A) and prepare Schedule M-1 Assist with the calculation and recording of the tax provision under ASC 740 Stay current on changes in tax legislation and communicate implications to leadership Support internal controls related to tax processes and assist with special projects as needed
Required Experience & Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 5+ years of tax accounting experience, preferably within manufacturing or industrial sectors Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations Experience preparing C-Corporation tax returns Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills High attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management capabilities Proficiency with productivity and collaboration tools (e.g., Google Workspace) Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
CPA certification or active progress toward certification 7+ years of tax experience in manufacturing or industrial environments Advanced experience with corporate tax provisions and compliance
