Tech One IT is hiring a senior DevOps Engineer (permanent, full‑time) for its Platform Engineering team. The position focuses on rearchitecting our Continuous Development solution and utilizes tools such as Harness and Terraform. It has a base pay range of
$135,000–$140,000
per year. The role follows a hybrid work model with a minimum of 3 onsite days per week and does not offer visa sponsorship. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States.
Overall Purpose This role designs, develops, tests and maintains infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, and containerized applications, providing technical leadership and hands‑on support for internal systems.
Essential Functions
Design, develop, document, test, and debug new and existing configuration‑management patterns and infrastructure as code.
Define comprehensive policies and technical documentation of best practices for system configurations.
Analyze requirements and design models for infrastructure and application flow.
Conduct design meetings and analyze user needs to determine technical requirements.
Write technical specifications based on conceptual design and business requirements.
Identify and evaluate new technologies for implementation, recommending changes to existing hardware and OS infrastructure.
Analyze results, failures and bugs to determine causes and tune the automation pipeline.
Diagnose and resolve hardware‑related server problems and serve as escalation point for troubleshooting.
Consult with end users to prototype, refine, test, and debug programs.
Proactively monitor environment health and remediate issues to improve performance.
Coach and mentor staff on policies, procedures, use cases and best patterns.
Support and maintain products, adding new features as needed.
Participate in change‑management processes for implementation.
Support risk management and protect the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.
Design and implement a container orchestration platform in a hybrid cloud environment.
Ensure the container platform is regularly maintained and released to production without downtime.

Lead infrastructure‑as‑code projects, designing APIs and building tools for reliable cloud deployments.
Implement abstractions to simplify complexities of cloud providers (AWS) and internal infrastructure.
Focus on usability, providing engineers with an intuitive and predictable experience at scale.
Troubleshoot complex infrastructure problems across multiple layers, collaborating with multiple teams.
Design cloud infrastructure for robustness, security, and observability.
Expertise in IaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible and continuous deployment pipelines.
Experience with AWS foundations (EC2, IAM, ELB, Route53, S3, Lambda, CloudFormation, DynamoDB).
Proficient debugging of networks, DNS, HTTP, TLS, load‑balancing, build systems, Linux and Docker.
Build and scale CI/CD and workflow pipelines.
Operate data‑center monitoring, alerting, and notifications.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent certifications.
Minimum of 7 years of related experience.
Demonstrated DevOps or software engineering experience.
Ability to manage multiple projects and understand software environments and network topologies.
Facilitated technical design sessions.
3+ years of experience in modern application design patterns.
Solid understanding of iterative software development processes.
Proficient in Linux command line and scripting.
Knowledge of tools such as Chef, Ansible, Puppet.
Experience with IaC, containerization, and orchestration (Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes).
Experience with security and encryption protocols.
Familiarity with at least one cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure).
Willingness to work varied schedules as part of an on‑call rotation.
Undergo background and drug screening.
Preferred
Certifications in Terraform, AWS, and Kubernetes.
Other cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, etc.) strongly preferred.
