Obstetrical Physician Patient Safety Officer
NYU Langone Hospital – Brooklyn is a full‑service, 450‑bed teaching hospital offering a diverse range of services, including one of the busiest Emergency Departments and Level I Trauma Centers in Brooklyn. It is a NYS Designated Stroke Center, STEMI Center, bariatric center of excellence, and perinatal care center certified by the Joint Commission. The OB program delivers approximately 4,000 births per year.

Responsibilities
Provide patient care and oversee the practice of 40 obstetricians and 17 advanced practice providers in the Labor and Delivery unit.
Conduct up to 13 safety officer sessions per month, each lasting 12 hours.
Collaborate with obstetrical teams (attendings, nurses, trainees, allied health professionals) to deliver evidence‑based care.
Participate in quality improvement projects, clinical research, mentorship of trainees, and leadership opportunities.
Qualifications
Board certified with a minimum of 5 years of continuous active practice in obstetrics.
Evidence of commitment to safe, high‑quality, state‑of‑the‑art patient care and trainee education.
Completion of a U.S. accredited OB/GYN residency training program.
Valid New York State medical license.
