Base pay range $195,000.00/yr - $225,000.00/yr

A Chicago-based, vertically integrated real estate development firm is hiring a Regional Director of Construction to lead and scale its Build-to-Rent platform across Dallas and Houston. This is a senior, hands‑on leadership role responsible for overseeing multiple $25M–$60M ground‑up residential developments, building operating discipline, negotiating major contracts, and ensuring projects deliver on schedule, on budget, and at the highest standard. You will partner directly with ownership, lead regional construction leaders, and put real structure behind an ambitious growth plan that will define the company’s next chapter.

Regional Director Of Construction Responsibilities

Oversee construction operations across Dallas and Houston, managing Directors of Construction, Project Managers, Construction Managers, and Superintendents

Lead 6‑8 concurrent ground‑up BTR projects ranging from 100–200 units each

Drive schedules, budgets, and performance using BuildPro and Hyphen systems

Analyze project reports, identify risks, and resolve escalated field issues quickly

Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers and manage purchasing strategy

Establish and refine SOPs, contracts, and operational processes across regions

Review new development opportunities, manage approvals, and oversee engineering, bidding, and awards

Ensure compliance with safety standards, operational best practices, and cost controls

Travel regularly to project sites in Dallas and Houston to stay close to execution

Regional Director Of Construction Requirements

5+ years in a director or regional director‑level construction leadership role

Experience working for a developer or owner’s rep, not just a GC

Proven success delivering single‑family, duplex, or townhome projects of 50+ units

Strong land development and purchasing experienceDeep operational expertise across contracts, processes, OSHA, and field execution

Demonstrated ability to lead multi‑disciplinary field teams at scale

Bachelor’s degree required; Construction Management or Engineering strongly preferred

A direct, accountable leadership style
