Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer‑Machinist to join an established client in the Aerospace and Defense Manufacturing Industry, consistently recognized as a Top Workplace in Long Island. The ideal candidate will program, set up, and operate CNC machines to produce precision parts. This position requires a strong understanding of CNC programming and machining processes, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC machinery to fabricate precision parts
Program CNC toolpaths (3‑axis minimum, 4/5 axis preferred) with CAM software (MasterCAM, GibbsCAM, or Fusion 360 preferred)
Design and build workholding fixtures for manufacturing
Perform basic preventative maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues
Manage raw material and finished parts inventory
Collaborate with the engineering, production, and quality teams to meet tolerances
Implement 6S practice in the machine shop
Requirements
HS Diploma or equivalent
2+ years minimum of hands‑on CNC machining & programming
Proficiency with manual knee mills, CNC vertical/horizontal mills
Experience with Mastercam, GibbsCAM, or Fusion CAM
Manufacturing knowledge and processes
