About The Role Our client is a leading national contractor specializing in high-quality interior and exterior construction systems, including drywall, prefabrication, acoustical solutions, metal studs, fireproofing, stucco, cladding, painting, and advanced architectural assemblies. This role requires a licensed Professional Engineer with strong experience in cold-formed steel (CFS) framing systems, who can create detailed structural drawings and collaborate directly with project managers, foremen, and field superintendents.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare structural engineering drawings for CFS framing systems (curtain walls, partitions, ceilings, load-bearing walls, prefabricated panels).
Perform calculations and prepare engineering packages for submission to design teams and local authorities.
Apply AISI, AISC, IBC, and ASCE standards; calculate wind and seismic loads.
Lead and mentor engineering and drafting team members; support technical development.
Attend project meetings and coordinate with architects, engineers of record, and contractors.
Support field operations by interpreting drawings, preparing layout sketches, and responding to engineering clarifications.
Participate in bid reviews and assist estimating teams on new projects.
Review engineering work of internal team members and ensure quality & compliance.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Minimum 5 years experience in cold-formed steel design.
Licensed PE in at least one U.S. state (SE or multi-state licensure preferred).
Proficient in Revit, RISA, CFS Designer, or similar structural software.
Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and trade drawings.
Strong communication, independent judgment, and priority management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
SE license or multi-state PE/SE capability.
Local to Oregon (relocation assistance available).
Experience in prefabrication, modular construction, or data center projects.
