We are currently looking to recruit a Sr. Instrumentation Engineer for one of our clients based in Dallas, Texas. Our client is a global leader in industrial materials whose products are essential to the low‑carbon technologies powering the modern economy. From electric vehicles to wind turbines, their materials play a vital role in building a more sustainable future. This role is ideal for an experienced instrumentation SME who enjoys hands‑on engineering, complex technical challenges, and shaping standards for a large‑scale, multi‑discipline project.
Responsibilities
Leading instrumentation engineering from conceptual design through commissioning and ongoing optimization.
Developing and reviewing instrumentation specifications, datasheets, requisitions, and technical bid evaluations.
Conducting design reviews of vendor and contractor deliverables, resolving issues during key project phases.
Collaborating closely within the EHS, Process, Mechanical, Electrical, and Controls Engineering teams to ensure successful system integration.
Overseeing the sourcing, evaluation, and implementation of instrumentation packages with supply chain partners.
Mentoring junior engineers and supporting technical development and design reviews.
Promoting continuous improvement and technical excellence across the project.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
7+ years of experience in industrial instrumentation design, specification, configuration, and validation.
Strong proficiency with P&IDs, loop drawings, I/O lists, and instrumentation documentation.
3+ years developing or influencing instrumentation standards and best practices.
Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus TCP, etc.).
Strong understanding of hazardous area classifications (explosion‑proof, intrinsically safe, etc.).
Familiarity with 3D model review, conduit/tray routing, and installation detail development.
PE license is highly preferred.
