Join Crossover as the Director of Academic Excellence for 2 Hour Learning, a role paying $200 per hour ($400,000 per year). This is a remote, full‑time position requiring bidirectional contractual agreement with Crossover.
Base Pay Range $200.00/hr - $200.00/hr
2 Hour Learning has developed a system in which students achieve twice the learning velocity in only two hours per day. With AI‑driven tutoring, mastery‑based advancement, and a rethink of classroom design, performance has been outstanding. We now need a leader capable of aligning execution across varied school environments, elevating academic leadership standards, and serving as a public advocate for a model rooted in sound learning science.
What You Will Be Doing
Build academic frameworks that convert learning science into actionable direction for curriculum design, motivation architecture, and application development.
Conduct academic execution reviews with Heads of Academics to ensure school teams remain aligned, accountable, and consistently producing results.
Integrate data, stakeholder interviews, and direct observation into academic ecosystem assessments that highlight critical obstacles to accelerated learning and recommend concrete interventions.
Ensure strategic alignment via planning cycles, feedback mechanisms, and milestone monitoring to sustain focus on student learning objectives.
Serve as the public face of 2 Hour Learning at the highest forums, delivering keynote presentations and engaging Ministries of Education to influence global perceptions of schooling.

Make incremental adjustments to standalone curriculum initiatives without achieving system‑wide impact.
Produce theoretical research disconnected from student outcomes or operational execution.
Transfer accountability for performance to mid‑level managers or external advisors.
Rely on institutional prestige or conceptual arguments to win over skeptical audiences.
Director Of Academic Excellence Key Responsibilities Expand and refine 2 Hour Learning's validated academic model by harmonizing execution across school sites, raising leadership standards, and serving as the authoritative voice of a movement founded on rigorous science and demonstrated results.
Basic Requirements
Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Learning Science, Educational Psychology, Instructional Design, or a related field.
7+ years leading academic or EdTech teams with evidence of exceptional learning outcomes.
Proven experience applying AI or technology to accelerate learning.
Track record of public thought leadership such as media, keynotes, books, or advising.
Strong performance‑management skills with the ability to hold elite peers to a high bar.
Fluent in interpreting data to diagnose learning issues and direct interventions.
Comfortable engaging directly with students, parents, and school leaders.
Nice‑to‑have Requirements
Founded or led an innovative school model, lab school, or high‑performing EdTech venture.
Experience navigating cultural, political, or international education contexts.
Deep familiarity with Bloom’s 2 Sigma research and other mastery‑learning frameworks.

Working With Us This is a full‑time (40 hours per week) long‑term position, immediately available, and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. Compensation is $200 USD/hour, which equates to $400,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. Payment is weekly.
