Position Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Area Sales Manager to lead initiatives for our customers. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the semiconductor industry, including emerging market trends. The role demands exceptional cross-functional collaboration, global team leadership, and the ability to present effectively to executive management.
In addition, the Area Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing and driving sales activities, developing relationships with key clients, and ensuring the achievement of revenue targets. This role will include managing a team of Sales Representatives (Sales Reps), overseeing the sales pipeline, and working closely with other departments (engineering, legal, marketing—product and technical—and operations) to ensure customer needs are met and business goals are achieved. The Area Sales Manager is a strategic, results-driven leader, focused on expanding market share and maintaining long-term customer relationships within the semiconductor industry.
Responsibilities Sales Strategy and Business Development Develop and execute the sales strategy for semiconductor products and solutions in assigned markets, focusing on both existing and new business to achieve individual and team sales targets. Identify and pursue new business opportunities and potential clients within the semiconductor industry. Expand market share by establishing new distribution channels and exploring new geographic or vertical markets.
Sales Pipeline and Forecasting Manage the sales pipeline, ensuring accurate forecasting, lead tracking, and collaboration with the sales team, operations, and customers to ensure the successful closing of deals and identification of new designs and business opportunities. Analyze sales data to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities for improvement. Provide feedback to senior leadership regarding market conditions, competitor activities, and customer feedback.
Client Relationship Management Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and their executive management, ensuring their needs are met. Proactively address customer concerns and provide strategic recommendations. Prepare and deliver presentations to executive management, summarizing project updates, market insights, and strategic initiatives. Act as the primary point of contact for strategic customers, ensuring the company delivers customer‑centric service.
Product Knowledge and Technical Expertise Maintain in-depth knowledge of industry trends, semiconductor products, manufacturing processes, and market developments. Build a strong understanding of the company’s product portfolio and solutions to support customer requirements. Collaborate with internal teams like product management, marketing, operations, and engineering teams to ensure that customer needs are aligned with product offerings and to resolve technical issues.
Negotiation and Contract Management Lead contract negotiations and manage the terms and conditions of deals to maximize profitability. Monitor post‑sale activities to ensure customer satisfaction and compliance with contract terms.
Education, Experience, and Skills Required
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (Master’s degree or MBA preferred).
Experience:
8+ years of sales experience in the semiconductor or related high‑tech industries, with a strong track record in sales management, strategic relationship management, and team leadership.
Sales Skills:
Proven ability to lead complex sales processes, manage large deals, and develop new business opportunities. Strong understanding of the sales cycle, from lead generation to closing deals, and post‑sale customer management.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Excel, PowerBi and PowerPoint required.
Other Requirements:
Full‑time position with significant travel to meet customers and prospects. High‑pressure, target‑driven environment that requires the ability to prioritize and manage multiple customer accounts and projects simultaneously.
Professional working proficiency in Mandarin a plus.
