About the Role MBS’s Legal Department supports a high‑volume workload across the company’s diverse and expanding studio, equipment, and production‑services operations. This role is a key part of MBS’s global media platform. We are seeking a mid‑level to senior attorney (3–7 years of experience) to join our Legal Department as
Senior Counsel . In this role, you will support legal matters across MBS’s global studio and real‑estate portfolio, equipment and prop operations, and other core areas of the business.
Senior Counsel will report directly to the General Counsel and will work closely with external counsel across a range of matters.
Key Responsibilities
Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of agreements, including service and vendor agreements; real‑estate leases and licenses; manufacturing, supply, consignment, and purchase/sale agreements; financing and capital lease agreements; revenue‑share and partnership agreements; NDAs; equipment and prop rental terms and conditions; master services agreements; and employment and separation agreements.
Advising on corporate, employment, privacy, compliance and regulatory matters, and partnering with external counsel as needed.
Managing litigation, including coordination with outside counsel.
Providing day‑to‑day legal guidance to executives, business leaders, and operations teams.
Supporting strategic projects and deals by giving practical legal advice, spotting issues, and assessing risks.
Overseeing contract lifecycle management, ensuring compliance with internal policies, legal requirements, and best practices while monitoring commercial risk.
Minimum Requirements
JD degree or equivalent.
3–7 years of experience handling sophisticated commercial transactions.
Ability to work independently and to collaborate effectively with senior management.
Strong organizational skills; ability to multi‑task and meet tight deadlines.
Proactive, self‑motivated approach with a commitment to excellence and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Active member in good standing of the California Bar.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with real‑estate leases and licenses is a plus.
Experience with commercial agreements in the entertainment industry (e.g., equipment rentals, prop manufacturing) is a plus.
Estimated Annual Salary Range $175,000–$190,000. The actual salary offered will depend on the candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications.
