Position Overview Reporting to the Vice President and CTO, this position will lead the modernization of Eaton’s Edge capabilities, driving strategic technology transformations across the organization. The role involves strategy, vision, architecture, investment, and primary execution to deliver AI‑forward Edge solutions that enhance connectivity, speed, and productivity for Eaton’s 100,000‑plus employees across 600+ locations.
Essential Responsibilities
Develop and execute a global strategy for EDGE technologies aligned with Eaton’s digital manufacturing and industrial/physical AI aspirations.
Lead, mentor, and engage a geographically diverse team of approximately 70+ employees and contractors to drive the infrastructure and edge strategies.
Influence the enterprise technology roadmap for infrastructure management, gatekeeping implementable Edge strategies and delivering initiatives on target, on budget and on time.
Modernize Edge infrastructure—including compute, storage, and networking—to support real‑time data processing, analytics, and AI workloads.
Establish and manage strategic partnerships with technology providers (e.g., AT&T, Cisco, HCL, Dell, Microsoft) to build solutions focused on business outcomes.
Set strategy to maximize the use and growth of Edge platforms, ensuring required ROI for the platform.
Develop roadmaps for tools, technology, and training to keep platform offerings innovative.
Partner with Cybersecurity to establish governance and best practices for Edge security and network operations; lead Edge components of the Zero‑Trust journey.
Collaborate with IT Support, Operations, and other teams to pre‑emptively identify end‑user incident trends and deploy fixes via targeted campaigns.
Establish strategic models for APM and infrastructure monitoring integrated into Eaton’s Cloud Strategy to detect anomalies and automate ITSM incidents.
Ensure high‑quality, on‑time delivery of platform modernization programs related to employee experience, productivity, and workplace solutions.
Collaborate with key business and IT partners to align technology priorities, negotiate program improvements, and meet financial goals.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, computer science, or related field from an accredited institution.
Minimum fifteen (15) years of IT experience.
Minimum five (5) years of leadership experience in global environments.
Experience developing and executing strategies for Edge technologies in global matrixed environments.
Experience managing a team of professionals and engineers in technology platforms and solution architecture.

Experience in manufacturing environments or knowledge of manufacturing business processes.

Compensation & Benefits The expected annual salary range for this role is $199 000 – $291 000. The role is also eligible for a variable incentive program.
