Job Description The Business Analyst is responsible for analyzing and understanding business requirements to support the design, development, and implementation of information systems. The candidate will work closely with stakeholders to gather and document requirements, assess business processes, and ensure the successful delivery of solutions that meet organizational needs.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements.
Conduct thorough analysis of business processes to identify improvement opportunities.
Translate business needs into clear and detailed functional requirements.
Create comprehensive documentation, including requirements specifications, process flows, and use case diagrams.
Communicate requirements and technical information clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Ensure all documentation is maintained and updated throughout the project lifecycle.
Work with development and design teams to create effective solutions that align with business requirements.
Validate solutions through testing and feedback, ensuring they meet business needs and objectives.
Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
Assist in project planning, scheduling, and tracking progress against project milestones.
Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to ensure timely delivery of project deliverables.
Identify and mitigate project risks and issues, escalating them to management as needed.
Stay informed of industry trends and best practices in business analysis.
Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and methodologies.
Provide recommendations for process improvements and system enhancements.
Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure their needs are met.
Facilitate meetings and workshops to elicit requirements and gather feedback.
Act as a liaison between business units and technical teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements
U.S. citizenship required.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
This position is remote but may require occasional onsite meetings in McLean, VA.
Eligible to work from the following states: AZ, DC, FL, GA, OH, ME, MD, SC, TX, UT, VA, NC, OK, WV.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
At least 4 years of experience in business analysis or a related role.
Strong understanding of business analysis principles, methodologies, and tools.
Proficiency in creating process flow diagrams, use case diagrams, and other analysis documentation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and business analysis software (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a government contracting environment.
Knowledge of Agile methodologies and practices.
Familiarity with data analysis and reporting tools.
