Eaton’s Electrical North American Sales division is seeking a District Sales Director for Southern California, which includes Los Angeles County, Orange County, San Diego County and Hawaii. The position will be based in Southern California and requires up to 25% travel. Relocation assistance is provided.

Reporting to the Vice President, Sales, West Region, the District Sales Director will direct all sales activities to achieve performance goals in line with marketing and sales plans. The role involves coaching, directing and training sales professionals, managing and developing their customer base, leveraging internal and external sales resources, driving products and the channel to market, supporting price attainment goals and executing strategic initiatives throughout the district.

In This Role You Will

Develop financial and strategic commercial sales plans that align to product divisions, producing a coordinated selling effort that exceeds annual sales goals and objectives.

Establish new and build on existing relationships with key customers and distributors to enhance sales volume and customer service.

Build organizational capabilities across a district sales team and enterprise-wide resources to deliver organic growth. Analyze responsibilities, recommending changes in sales force structure, assignments and selling activities to produce maximum, profitable volume while achieving the best cost-to-sales ratio.

Plan, direct, and drive sales resources to ensure adequate coverage of accounts.

Understand Eaton’s and competitors’ products, tactics, strategy, pricing and competitive position in the district.

Create and execute strategic plans, including the implementation of strategic channel and product line initiatives.

Build close relationships with key contractors, distributors and end users to enhance sales volume and deliver growth.

Identify, analyze, select and continuously improve the district’s various channels to market.

Recruit, hire, train, develop and continuously improve the organizational capabilities of sales personnel.

Qualifications

Minimum of 8 years of experience in Sales and Marketing within the commercial electrical product market.

Minimum of 5 years of experience leading a team, directly or indirectly.

Proven leadership experience managing sales teams, customers and channel.

Proven track record of leading large-scale business development initiatives, driving sales growth, expanding market share and achieving pricing objectives across diverse markets.

An undergraduate degree from an accredited institution is required.

Must have and maintain an unrestricted driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

Product line marketing and/or operational experience.

MBA preferred.

Position Criteria

Proven leadership skills and the ability to successfully manage and resolve conflict.

Experience and ability to assess, select, develop, motivate and energize a diverse team in critical areas of sales planning, negotiation and customer pursuit, swiftly addressing performance issues.

Knowledge of electrical markets, products and distribution channels.

Strategic planning and profit planning / VOP planning experience.

Strong commercial acumen with experience in customer development and the deployment of various sales techniques.

Experience setting aggressive sales plans and achieving ambitious targets and stretch goals.

Ability and demonstrated experience to identify existing and future growth market opportunities and tailor strategic sales plans and resources to maximize Eaton’s top‑line and market‑share position.

Strong customer orientation and focus, with the ability to work with all levels of the customer organization to sell and support products and understand their current and future business needs.

At Eaton, we strive to provide compensation and benefits that attract, engage, and retain the best talent. The expected annual salary range for this role is $182,000—$268,000 a year, and the position is eligible for a variable incentive program. This salary information is a general guideline; actual salaries are based on candidate skills, experience, qualifications, market and business considerations.
