Overview
HealthDrive is seeking a Part‑Time (3 days per week) optometrist to join our team in Toledo, Ohio. Full‑time (5 days per week) optometrists have an opportunity for approximately $100K+ per year and flexible stability.
We currently offer a $6,000 sign‑on bonus.*
About Us With over 30 years of experience and established industry relationships in senior‑living environments, HealthDrive is the leading provider of optometry services to residents of communities across the nation. Our optometrists are positioned to provide patient‑centered care while receiving white‑glove concierge support from our seasoned provider support team, based in Framingham, Massachusetts.
As an optometrist with HealthDrive, you will hand a practice & provide exams, testing and a variety of optometry services to residents of nursing homes, assisted‑living facilities, and long‑term care facilities in a mobile fashion.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive exams, diagnose, treat and manage age‑related ocular diseases, injuries and disorders of the eye.
Provide traditional daily patient care including vision testing and prescribing spectacle lenses.
Complete required patient and clinical documentation in our optometry electronic medical record system.
Apply proper coding guidelines and populate appropriate billing codes for services provided to patients.
Adhere to OSHA guidelines regarding patient care, disposal of materials, and sterilization of equipment.
Qualifications
Optometry background with proficiency in assessment, treatment, management, and evaluation of eye conditions and disorders.
Ability to work independently on a daily basis.
Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Ability to use EMR, text, e‑mail, the internet and to learn other healthcare‑related software.
Self‑starter attitude with the desire to deliver quality, thoughtful and attentive care.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, bend, and lift.
Ability to transport optometry equipment (up to 15 lbs).
May occasionally be required to transport patients in wheelchairs.
Education & Credentials
Doctor of Optometry (O.D.).
Current state professional license.
Valid driver’s license.
Travel This is a mobile position. Daily travel is based on patient‑care requirements for the specified service area. A valid driver’s license and the ability to drive significant distances on occasion are required.
