Provides empathetic pharmacy consulting services to patients regarding the effective use of medications and drug interaction awareness. Offers preventive and clinical healthcare services, including immunizations, diagnostic testing, and patient outcome services. Ensures prescribed medications are compounded, reviewed, dispensed, and verified accurately according to regulatory guidelines and company policies and procedures. Manages an efficient pharmacy workflow and improves pharmacy financials, manages inventory effectively, and enhances patient experience. Manages pharmacy staff performance and engagement. Ensures the professional development of pharmacy staff by overseeing training, focused coaching, and executing formal performance management initiatives. Job Responsibilities
Patient Experience: Engages patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves patient issues in a timely manner and answers questions to ensure a positive patient experience. Patient Experience: Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and joyful patient experience, including interpersonal habits that show care and Walgreens service traits. Patient Experience: Connects with patients by anticipating needs and proactively offering services, including immunizations, diagnostic testing, and patient outcome services. Events: Participates and assists in events that reflect the communities served. Operations: Counsels patients and answers questions regarding usage, side effects, interactions, contraindications, privacy, generics, less expensive medicines, and OTC products. Refers to medical providers as needed. Operations: Performs pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management. Operations: Reviews, interprets, and accurately dispenses prescribed medications; ensures regulatory compliance. Operations: Oversees pharmacy workflow and staffing, opening/closing, scheduling, and procedures; ensures Good Faith Dispensing practices. Operations: Maintains IT knowledge of pharmacy systems and supports staff and patients with information technology. Operations: Manages insurance claims processing and resolves issues with payers and providers. Operations: Follows up with providers on prescriptions, dosages, refills, interactions, and allergies; supports clinical services. Operations: Oversees maintenance of the department and records required by law. People & Performance Management: Collaborates on hiring, discipline, and compliance with employment laws; promotes teamwork and rewards improvements. People & Performance Management: Manages staff performance through training and formal reviews; supports career progression. People & Performance Management: Addresses employee relations concerns and maintains morale. Training & Personal Development: Maintains required licensing and credentials; pursues ongoing professional development. Training & Personal Development: Completes required education and training modules; seeks feedback and mentorship. Communications: Supports leadership with communication of health and wellness services and strategy to staff. Business Performance Management: Analyzes performance data, manages inventory and asset protection, and identifies improvement opportunities. Business Planning: Builds relationships with local medical professionals and communities to promote growth and wellness awareness. Basic Qualifications: BS in Pharmacy or PharmD; current pharmacist licensure; Certified Immunizer or willing to become one within 90 days; at least 1 year of pharmacy experience including dispensing, compliance, and billing; experience with controlled substances laws; leadership rating criteria for internal candidates where applicable.
