Summary of Job Duties: Diagnostic Radiology Technologists produce radiographic images for medical interpretation, interact with all healthcare staff, many clerical staff members, all patient care departments, and with patients' families and visitors. This position is accountable for performing the correct radiologic exams and producing high‑quality images while supervising others.
Shift: 9:30 am – 8 pm – Mon – Thurs or Tues – Fri
Responsibilities
Operate and position radiologic equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes and according to exam specifications, following established radiologic requirements and regulations to ensure patient care and safety.
Prepare patients for radiologic procedures by escorting patients to x‑ray rooms, providing verbal instructions, and assisting patients in positioning body parts to be radiographed.
Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure patient care, safety and comfort during scan.
Serve as a back‑up for clinical team members, as needed, by controlling patient flow and triaging.
Maintain working order of radiologic equipment, including reporting equipment malfunctions and scheduling regular maintenance.
Review patient records and import external images into the picture archiving and communication system (PACS).
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Graduated from an Associate's (2‑year) certificate program, certified by the ASRT in Radiology Technology.
Registered or eligible by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
Licensed or eligible for a license by the State of Arkansas in Radiology Technology.
